It seems that all enemies in anime screw themselves over when they reveal how their powers work.
"Hahahahah! You’ll never beat me and my shadow powers! I’m my strongest in the dark! It’s pitch black and you can’t even see me!"
"Oh well in that case let me use my technique/power/ability that also creates light as a side-effect."
"My explosives will tear you apart without me taking a scratch thanks to this generator on my back!"
"Good thing I have agility/strength on my side and I can get close to you and destroy that generator by using simple tactics to get your guard down."
"Allow me to introduce myself and my abilities! I am [nefarious name] and my specialty is being able to perform waves of energy generated by these fragile gemstones located on the most vulnerable areas of my body."
If they just kept their abilities a secret nobody would ever beat them because they’d be too busy taking all of their special attacks to come up with a counter attack or strategy to beat them. But instead, the enemy shows the protagonist just how much they love to talk about themselves and hint at their weakpoints which inevitably leads to their demise.
